General Questions/New to Joomla! 5.x • Problems Migrating a PHP Website to Joomla

I’m facing multiple challenges while migrating a custom PHP website to Joomla. One major issue is the content structure mismatch. Our website [Reference] use a unique system to organize content, which doesn’t directly align with Joomla's article and category system. Manually transferring content is time-consuming, and certain dynamic features from the original site aren't easy to replicate within Joomla.

Additionally, the Reference website uses custom scripts for user logins, forms, and data processing, which aren’t compatible with Joomla's framework. Every attempt to integrate them either causes performance issues or breaks parts of the Joomla site.

The design migration is another struggle. The PHP site’s custom template doesn’t easily translate into Joomla's template system, leading to CSS and JavaScript conflicts. As a result, some design elements and scripts don't work as expected. Finally, there’s the challenge of preserving SEO and URL structures. The original site has SEO-friendly URLs, but Joomla’s routing system generates different URLs, which could affect search engine rankings.
